Ah, the joys of anime cons. Love the trick ending, but it's very true - you do meet lot of nice people at cons.

She was clearly inviting them.

People like Hilarious and My Cosplay tend to get more annoying over time.

15 to 1 are not the best odds.
but ............. yeah.
I don't go to cons anymore.
(except maybe YaoiCon. No creepers. Good hygiene. Attendees old enough to afford and drink cocktails.)

y'know... that last bit made me remember one of the perks of working at Sam's Club before I got canned there. I could get a case of frappuccinos and all the mini donuts I wanted to drag along to any cons I went to and share with people... it makes me miss my job even more (crappy economy).
I even offered a frappuccino and donut to one dealer because she was nice not expecting anything and got the "coffee discount" from her (and having food and caffeine makes you good friends with whoever is waiting in line with you at the beginning of the con or for whatever else is going on there that involves lines).

The good things at cons always outweigh the weird, unpleasantness or awkwardness.
I've always have a great time at cons with no real complaints.... except for overpriced convention food.... lol
Great Job Robin....

Unfortunately for Paola, the cookies were drugged. Lesson learned: Don't accept home-baked goods from strangers.

FMA poster fanart? I guess this is supposed to be a smaller con as I'm pretty sure that the bigger cons are cracking down on fanart of licensed properties for sale. A sad, sad thing.
Otherwise the strip matches my con experiences.

Huh, really? I was at Otakon a few years ago and got some FMA, Ouran and Chrono Crusade buttons and bookmarks and stuff at the artist alley. And NDK's the biggest con in our general area, and I usually can find stuff from popular properties in the artist alley (although I guess there's plenty of original work and crafts, too). Although I guess NDK might still be considered sort of "small" and maybe things have changed at Ota since I've been?

ah pulled back from the maw of despair by one individual... paola's faith in humanity is restored... until the next comic [dun, dun DUUUUUNNN!]
amazing to me is how universal this sort of thing has always been... been to photo conventions, electronics, business, print, and other professional type stuff, and to varying degrees things still hold. The main difference is the age mix... prolly fewer drunk businessmen in an Anime con
