I heard the Trigun manga might start coming out this summer, is this true?

I got this from TRIGUN MACHINE

According to the Spring 2002 issue of the American Anime Invasion magazine, rumor has it that the release of the Trigun manga may be coming this summer. There are reportedly several interested companies pursuing the rights, and an announcement should be forthcoming citing the company who wins the bidding war.
