I watched a video today on You Tube today, and I watched a trailer for a Tales of Symphonia anime based on the GameCube game. Right now its only in Japanese, but I would LOVE to see it dubbed! Anyone here know if a dubbing or a subtitled release will come to the US? This is one of my favorite GameCube games, and having it in english with the orginal cast would be AWESOME!

Way too early to say for sure if it will get a licensed dub release, the Japanese DVDs don't even come out until June. I'm sure there will be a fansub, it's only four episodes long so it would be an easy one to do.

Not saying it's going to be, but I'd be pretty surprised if it didn't get licensed. I was surprised they even decided making this into an anime as opposed to some other much more popular Tales games in Japan. The only good reason I can think of for making it into an anime would be so they can bring it over to the US. The game was more popular here than it was in Japan...

Ya, I thought Symphonia was one of the top selling Gamecube games here in the US. So it wouldn't be surprising to se the anime HERE, but just think if it never hit america. No anime for us...

Oh, I'd think I'd cry if TOS anime never came here.
Why would it be only FOUR episodes long? You would think because the game is so long wouldn't the anime be long as well?

I must be way out of touch, I didn't realize the Tales of Phantasia anime (based on my favorite Tales game) had been licensed, let alone already released. I guess I have something to look for now. I have no doubt TOS will be released over here eventually too.
As to why it's only four episodes, if it's anything like the TOP anime it wont cover the entire game, but rather start from a major event and move on from there.

Only four episodes? If they wanted to bring it to the US, it doesn't make much sense from a business point of view.

It's called an OVA, guys. Do you really think they're gonna do a full blown 26 ep series based on ONE game?
But yeah, this looks sweet and I can't wait for fansubs.

Maybe not 26, but Tales of Eternia got a 13 episode season run. Four OAVs aren't generally long enough to cover 40+ hours games, especially those like the Tales series which tend to be very heavy on story.

I love that game! but what does an OVA have to do with how many episodes it has? I know what OVA means but isn't all anime OVA?

I just hope that the episode length will be 40+ minutes for each. An OVA is fine bt make it last.
