Is that last picture supposed to be a double?
I can empathize with your struggle to assemble the joined hands. I HATE it when a figure won't do what it's supposed to. I can never tell if it's just me or if it's a flaw with the toy. Just last week I had to use a hot glue gun on my poor Larva doll because his mask wouldn't come off properly. |

I think the last picture was supposed to be this one.

I haven't seen the whole series, but I would love to own those two figurines.

Nice column. I have to admit those figures are really nice. They're articulated very well giving you a wide range of fight poses. $30 each is not too bad considering most figures run about that anyway. Not something you'd give a kid anyway. I'd paid about $50+SH for a 'Sei' model from BakuTen. But, they REALLY are nice figures.
I'll admit that I normally don't watch magical girl shows because [for some odd reason I'd never sat and watched one or were never drawn to them or] they just weren't my thing. Hell, I barely watched 'Sailor Moon'. And then there's 'Cutey Honey'. Love me some Go Nagai. It's not a magical girl show but it's pretty damn close but for boys. The first 'PreCure' was the first magical girl series I DL'd and watched religiously. Not so much 'Splash Star'. I watched a little of PC Go 5, not bad either kinda goes back to it's earlier roots. But the first series I enjoyed the most. The reasons I was drawn to watch it because of all the fanart and doujins surrounding it. Then there were the whole "shoujo-ai" undertones fans kept going on about. Some how I found myself watching taking a spin and my mind was blown away from the amount of "kickassery". Not to mention a solid story with well rounded characters. I actually considered it 'Dragonball' for girls, then I found out Toei's main man Daisuke Nishio of 'Dragonball' fame was responsible. No wonder. I guess that's what I needed in a magical shoujo show was some ass kicking. It's a shame they never brought it over. Chances are parents wouldn't want their little girls kicking people or feeling empowered and independent. And then there's the case of marketing. I actually finished both seasons, PreCure and PreCureMH. Never thought it was possible. |
