Wow, judging by the video, it sounds like the English dub will be produced in the US. Too bad, this is only for the U.K.
Unless, the possibility of this airing on the U.S. comes to mind. |

It actually was aired in Australia last June with the same dub, but was dropped before it got too far. Probably produced by Blue Water like Deltora Quest was.

Maybe if America is lucky, we can also get this on our Disney channel!?

It's gonna take more than luck. As a whole, America is, unfortunately, oblivious to the beauty and grace of soccer, and anime sports series never seem to do well here. Remember when Viz teamed up with NFLRush.com for Eyeshield 21? I think they dubbed about 5 episodes before they gave up on that. And (American) football is (arguably) the country's most popular sport right now. This really isn't that surprising. Europe has traditionally been more receptive to foreign entertainment (at least more than America). Showing a cartoon about soccer there is like America showing reality TV shows. |

It does sound like a Blue Water dub; I think I recognize one of the voices from G Gundam. Too bad there are no credits on any of the English production to confirm it. It's also rather intriguing they changed the names for the dub but kept everything else including the Japanese text-filled credit sequences. |

Very true. Despite the fact football, given how much publicity is given to the sport and how popular it is, Eyeshield 21 (the anime) did quite poorly in the states and was quickly dropped from Cartoon Network. Although CN partnered with NFLRush, the series still did poorly. |

It's actually been theorized that this dub is from the Philippines or Singapore as those were one of the first markets to air this dub.

As the guy who gave ANN the information (Rune Jayce is a alias that I use for email purposes, I only give my real information out when emailing certain people), I can tell you that the distributors of the UK version are from Spain and that the UK dub actually uses a translated version of the 1st Japanese OP as well as a rewritten but shorter version of the 1st ED.
Interestingly enough, they actually showed the anime version in French on Disney France just under a year ago! Also, for some weird reason, the DS game isn't easy to find in the UK although it was supposed to have come out earlier this year (February if I recall correctly). Dub-wise, it may not be there with the likes of other anime dubbed for kids like Teknoman and Escaflowne (both of which were shown on Fox Kids/Jetix UK and were also shown in full unlike their US screenings along with Eagle Riders!) when it comes to quality, but at the same time, at least it's not a car-crash dub like the Knights of the Zodiac dub (which thank God was done by a different company whereas the ADV dub was WAY better! Then again, I am biased as a couple of good friends of mine were extras on that dubbed version) Overall, the anime version of Inazuma Eleven isn't that bad and I like the fact that they used the original OP and END music although the English version of the OP sucks ass while the English version of the ED is quite catchy in its own way. |

They changed (i.e. "localizing"; e.g. Mark Evans=Mamoru Endō, Axel Blaze=Shūya Gōenji, Jude Sharp=Yūto Kidō, Shawn Frost=Shirō Fubuki) the names of the characters in Inazuma Eleven? But not the title of the anime e.g. into "Lighting Eleven", although "Thunder Eleven" would sound better in my opinion.
How are they gonna represent Japan much later on in the show? |

Really? Of ALL Football anime they could have gone with they pick this one?
Captain Tsubasa would have been a better series to go with. |

Lots of the names in the show are extremely punny, and it seems they've tried to incorporate that into the dub. i.e. Fubuki = Blizzard/Frost. Shiro = White = Shawn (White). Guess they couldn't figure out something for the title... |

I doubt that's it. The DS game is available under the name Inazuma Eleven in Europe, so it wouldn't make much sense to change the title of the tv-series. BTW It's on the Dutch Disney channel as well. |

I coincidentally found out about this yesterday and was too late to tape last night's episode but was thinking about putting today's on the V box to see if the credits say anything about the dub.

Because this has toys, manga, cards, and video games to sell. Captain Tsubasa will sell kids...?
Well, actually the TV show started airing in early 2010, and it wasn't until February 2011 that the first game was released outside of Japan. The show could've had its name changed.
UK release for the first video game is for next month. Every other European country that was airing the show earlier got the game in February. |

This is so fucked up in so many ways that the UK which is practically the home of soccer is the last part of Europe to get the videogame itself in the region while the rest of Europe gets to play the game before us! In any case, I'm not bothered about it for now as I'm waiting for Xenoblade Chronicles to come out here in a few weeks time! |
