Software Sculptors' release of the first season of Slayers had some horrible problem with the Japanese track that a re-release apparently didn’t entirely fix, and the English track is actually missing sound effects in a dozen or so places and now I hear their Utena dub is absolutely awful and there’s many technical issues with the discs. What’s going on? Are they the worst anime company ever? Why? The Slayers bug baffles me. How could professionals let that slip by? Twice?

Slayers was a mistake, and they fixed it.

What "technical issues" are you talking about?

Something about the picture quality. I suppose the problem here is that I don't really know what I'm talking about right there. Not really familer with the technical aspects of these tings. The Slayers Japanese track still sounds odd, though I suppose I don't have a sound set-up that would let me check for sure. And there's till those missing FX in the ENG track. And the Utena dub.

uhhh...the link that was given is for a legit online retailer, not a bootlegger or ebay or anything.

Yeah. If the a box set of 150 epiodes and they are selling it for 60 or 70 bucks, does that sound right? But like Ebay, bids for bootlegs for new stuff are scary.

But, I do have the Slayers TV Box Set and I didn't notice anything really wrong, both tracks, but I bought it in store. So, if you that worried about bootlegs, you can order it from Right Stuf (Miagi link) or Amozan, or do what I do, ask the local big chain video store to order for you.

CPM have put out some very nice discs (ex. Now and Then Here and There, Grave of the Fireflies, Alian 9 and many more). It shouldn't be that hard to find Slayers Next. You could always go with a very reputable dealer someplace like amazon.com. Places like that won't give you boots. Besides, the suggested retail price for the Slayers Next DVD box is $129.99 so anyone charging much more than that is ripping you off.
