I just wish sometimes that I grew up in the time of an anime. Like Cowboy bebop hehe or Naruto learning ninjistu, I know its all fiction but it would be cool wouldnt it? I think that is one of the reasons I watch anime really, to see what it would be like to be in the future/past. So am I crazy? If so, its cool, I like being crazy

The entertainment industry is geared towards helping people with that sense of "escapism" I guess. No one wants to be stuck in reality all the time! So, as long as you don't start "living in your fantasy world" in real life, you're fine. To be carried away in the story while you're watching it is kinda what's supposed to happen.

I dont think your alone. When I was a younger I thought the same thing still do at time but most of the Anime/manga I like now I sure as hell wouldnt want to live in that Universe/World such as berserk. Now the universe/world that Angelic Layer takes place in would be awsome I would love that Level of Tech in a game. Or some of the H animes hehehheh ok so im officaly a anime junkie.

you are all nuts! i tell ya... nuts, nuts, nuts...
yeah, it's fun to be immersed in a good anime like bebop or scrapped princess...but it also makes me wonder when our world will actually go through a drastic change via natural or man-made disaster or technological advance. anything could still happen in our lifetime...i wonder if i can deal with it.
animes like blue gender and trigun makes you wonder if humanity will be its own downfall...you can freeze me anyday as long as i have a guarantee that i'll be revived later (just not before the end of the world)...a long time later...goes to show that mortality is hard to accept...
sorry, i'm babbling...

I wish i could be in an anime to. I like the way people still learn the martial arts. Now adays if you get into a fight on a street evn if you agree with the other person you get locked up. I jut wish i could have the power that goku does or the hand eye coordination vash has. I think we can all achieve these things in life if we concentrate and dedicate are life to it. So what about anyone else? You think you can achieve these things like i do

How I wish I lived in a manga/anime.
As said above, that's the whole point of HAVING manga/anime, right? After all, most of the otaku are not the happiest people around. Or at least want to escape the realities of life.
It's not like the manga/anime world doens't have the real life problems, it's just that those problems seem to be solved all the time, no matter the difficulty with which they are. (There are some exceptions)

hell, I just wish I was about 10yrs older, with same experiences as now, so I could enjoy all the anime's that came out in the 90's. It sucks playing catch-up... Bebop, Eva, Trigun, heck, all of my collection
Seems like all the good creators are dead/dying, retired/retiring that and it feels like it's turning into american-ish... mass produced stuff with no real content anymore (with exceptions of course).
