I hope they keep the original aspect ratio on the blu-ray, rather than cropping it like they did for the Director's Cut version and this trailer.

Try reading the text near the bottom right hand of the video, above the Aniplex logo.

"The uploader has not made this video available in your country." Great. Rolling Eyes

*Phew*

Thanks for the heads up, I didn't even notice that without putting the video on full screen!

jm: I know. It's ridiculous when they even region-block trailers.

Methinks the pricetag of Aniplex releases are pretty ridiculous. =\ And because they limit distribution, you can't get it for cheaper off Amazon or anything. *sigh*

You seriously expect them to make available the JP release in the US, simultaneously with Japan, and for significantly less? I know if I had a market that gave me 90% of my revenue, and another less than 10%, I'd do all I could to decrease the revenues from the first in favor of the latter... Anime dazed

$65 for Tsuioku-hen is a lot of money for just 2 hours. But I'll be damned if this isn't my all-time favorite anime title to date. I wouldn't do this for anything else outside of Kenshin and maybe Mushishi...

Pre-ordered.

I don't import a lot of merchandise anymore. I figure this will probably be just one of the few thousand things I ever buy in my life that will ever be worth paying extra for. Otherwise, I'd wait for a domestic release, like the new TV series that will more than likely be licensed and distributed on BD in the states.
