I just got done watching the first episode of Shaman King dubbed, and I must say...IT WAS AWESOME! It was (IMO) one of the best dubs to come out recently. The voices were all accurate, the fight scene was left almost incredibly intact (I haven't seen the Japanese Version, but there didn't appear to be any edits, they even left Ryu/Rio's thugs' spit flying from their beaten jaws in!) If you can get past the name changes Manta/Morty, Ryu/Rio, Ren/Len(Lenny), then it is very enjoyable. i have no doubt that the Subbed version was/ would be better, but I think 4kids did a decent job with this. They even credited Shonen Jump with the series! Anyone else share these feelings?

i hate Manta(Morty)'s voice, but other than that it seems okay.

Yoh & Manta's voices aren't exactly how I envisioned they would be in my mind from the manga, but that's not anybody's fault. Push that aside and I think it was pretty good. ^-^
My complaint has nothing to do with the show directly. It's the stupid tag ling the FoxBox placed on it when it starts and stops for commercials. "SHAAA MAAAN KIIING!" That is, hands down, the worst part.

Actually, Yoh's voice is the only one that really comes close (I didn't really catch Amidamaru's). Manta/Morty's voice is isn't very close, and Ryu is most definetely not Spanish (or whatever it was supossed to sound like). But oh well, I guess I shouldn't complain to much...

I guess I'm going to have to disagree with the concensus here.
I didn't like it at all. Of course, I'm a huge fan of the original show. "Morty's" VA, while he is a good actor, his voice doesn't fit the character at all. "Rio's" incredibly bad spanish accent I find personally insulting. Not to mention it's so bad it's hilarious. And while, visually, not a lot was cut, almost ALL the dialoug has been changed. Also, ALL of the original music has been replaced with a cartoony sounding, never-ending score. The full list of edits and changes can be found in the link in my sig. The saddest thing is that because the rights are owned by 4kids, the chances for an uncut sub release are virtually nil. EDIT: O.k, my sig won't show up for some reason.
