Wow, pretty much everything I was hoping would make it made it. I’m especially happy to see that Anne Shirley made it.

Very disappointed to not see Summer Pockets as it was one of the higher viewer rated shows. Definitely got shot down way too early. Plenty of shows start out slow and it just barely set up the story. Look forward to forum discussions at least.

Kinda sad that Umamusume: Cinderella Gray didn't make it. But oh well...

While it didn't crack the Top 5 for requests, it was still probably one of the safer titles for making the cut.

In general, no surprises among the top 5 vote-getters. Was pleased to see Gorilla God and The Too-Perfect Saint make the cut (voted for both but wasn't fully confident on either of those) and a bit surprised (but definitely not disappointed) to see both Boy-Girl Friendship and Country Bumpkin make it. OTOH, Summer Pocket not making it was expected; this format just isn't kind to slow-starting series.

More surprised that neither mono nor Food for the Soul made it. Guess pedigree wasn't enough to overcome their late starts this time. Sad

While I fully understand why, it is amusing that Yaiba is being covered as a weekly review, but not Case Closed. Yeah, Yaiba is the new hotness compared to Conan's 1,000+ episode run that's still going, but it's also just funny to see Gosho Aoyama's earlier work that barely anyone cared about until now get all the attention over the literal Japanese cultural institution that is Detective Conan. Just shows how niche Conan is in English, really.

It'd be like if Dragon Ball Daima was still running, but also a new Dr. Slump TV anime had just debuted & the end result was Slump getting weekly reviews but not Dragon Ball.

I am quite pleased with the list though no Mono or Food for the Soul does hurt a bit.

No Shoshimin is a shock. The first couple of episodes have already been plenty interesting with how Jogoro and Osanai are adapting to their new relationships.

I was already prepared to see SHOSHIMIN S2 not getting in but it still hurts to see.... That aside, I'm very surprised that the Sweet Home Alabama Children didn't get in. I feel like its the kind of show that would get some pretty amusing weekly reviews & I'd end up reading them even if I end up not watching the show.

I blame the weird release schedule and the fact that the first 3 episodes don't do the best job establishing what the show is about.

I'm watching (or plan to watch) far more shows than I normally do, and somehow, every single one of them is getting reviewed. Historically speaking, I typically limit myself to 3 or 4 shows per season, and there have been times when only 1 or 2 of them were reviewed, so I'm thrilled to know I have 8 reviews to read each week. I'll be curious to see the list of shows that won't be reviewed this season (thank you in advance to the person who typically compiles a list), as I can't say I remember many of them.

I have a random question for those with good memories. Who holds the record for most reviewed shows in a single season, and how many did they watch?

In terms of the reviewers? Probably Rebecca. She's the only one I can think of who's ever done five.

Will not be reading many reviews this season, since at most I am only watching 5 of the 23 shows to be reviewed: Anne Shirley and Aharen-san wa Hakarenai Season 2 for sure, and possibly Rock is a Lady's Modesty, Witch Watch, and Can a Boy-Girl Friendship Survive?.

Those two shows along with Zatsu Tabi: That's Journey are my personal favorites, so I am not at all surprised none were voted in considering the relative unpopularity of CGDCT/SOL/iyashikei relative to action/monsters/villainesses/vampires/blood and gore/isekei.

I disagree because based on the Spring 2025 Preview reviews and past reviews none of the review staff is really enthusiastic about watching and reviewng CGDCT/SOL/iyashikei - that slot has been empty at ANN since Cypress "Cy" Catwell (formerly known as Mercedez Clewis) left.

Do you mean Shiunji-ke no Kodomo-tachi/The Shiunji Family Children? If so, yeah I could see quite a few reviewers finding it squicky.

I was a little disappointed, but not at all surprised, that Takamine wasn't selected for an ironic/hate-watch review. Probably best for the reviewers that way, but I've long enjoyed reading both the joke reviews (Momentary Lily, Nokaton) and the serious reviews that analyze why a show is bad (KamiKatsu).
