I'm sorry to hear of Roberto Orci's passing. I know him of his work on Star Trek's Kelvin trilogy (yes, I'm a long time Star Trek fan BTW). So sad to see him passed away. RIP.

Can't say I enjoyed his take on Star Trek, but 51 is too early to pass away. RIP man.

The current state of fandoms is really telling that there are dipsh*ts celebrating his death, and calling for Kurtzman to bite it next.
I don't love his films, but this isn't a good day regardless.

Every fandom has those kinds of people, but the Transformers fandom feels especially divided due to how spread out it is between the live-action, western, and Japanese continuities. And there's a lot of people who just hate the other parts of the fandom.
Although even if one doesn't like the live-action universe, Roberto Orci helped make Prime which is what I would consider the strongest western Transformers cartoon. It's sad he died.

That's sad and very pathetic to hear. Unfortunately, that's something you'll always see in a lot of fandom, that always comes with the territories of being part of the fandom no matter if it's anime/manga, Transformers, comic/graphic novel, etc... I've been in anime/manga fandom since 2006. K-pop fandom since 2013, and I've been involved with other fandom too, and I had enough experience to know each fandom have it's own toxic side including deranged rabid fans.
