Well with only 15 volumes then it could easily get a full adaptation since a second season is already in the works.

The first season adapted 4 volumes, so they would either need a minimum of four seasons or significantly compress things for a full adaptation. I'd guess that unless the story does require all 15 volumes to accomplish the initial goal of the plot (I have not read ahead), the adaptation will probably end wherever that is achieved.

Volumes 13-15 are effectively an extended afterstory, so it is a definite possibility.

Huh. I always assumed it was based on a LN, like with most other isekai.
Guess I was wrong.

Sad it ended as I was reading it and enjoying it too, but I am glad the anime is getting a second season at least. I hope they are not rushing it.
