Oh boy this is gonna get political and might get me banned but I’m very proud of South Korea standing up to abuses of power and fighting against corruption. In America, Donald Trump has been impeached twice, caused an insurrection w/ white nationalists, is a convicted felon w/ 35 counts, a racist, and will now make the US an oligarchy & being everyone not in his inner circle pain and suffering and half the voters and those who sat out decide it was ok and let’s do it again.
I know SK has major problems with the biggest one being Chaebols controlling almost the entire economy and influencing everything negatively from education, influencing politicians to pass laws to benefit them w/ things like slush funds, etc. I bet you the convict will do the same thing in the USA with martial law because “illegals are attacking” bs. This is gonna be a long, destructive 4 years/when the Trump kicks the bucket/gets removed. I pray and hope that America will wake up to what’s happening, raises up, resists, and removes him and his cronies out of office when they try to invoke martial law/uses the military against civilians. As a long time K-pop/K-drama/Hallyu fan, I've been monitoring South Korea's situation development since President Yoon has been going full Trump with his martial law attempt on the nation. Oh by the way, it's not only manhwa/webtoon artists that are demanding impeachment of President Yoon, but also several K-pop idols (and probably actors/actresses, I know Park-Chan Wook has joined and take part in the protest) are also joining the protest to have President Yoon impeached. One famous K-pop singer/idol, IU (she's basically the South Korean's Taylor Swift if you want a comparison) has went as far as to supply food & coffee for the protestors. Even protestors are using K-pop light sticks as an anthem/symbols for the impeachment protests.
As a long time K-pop fans, I've never seen anything like this, not since the June 1987 uprising that South Korea previously had. I'm watching this protest/uprising and impeachment in SK with a microscope observation.
I don't think you'll get ban or anything like that given that ANN's Executive Editor made a politically charged rant/letter that is aligned to your political views (you ought to read the forum response after she did that). So I'll doubt you'll get ban from ANN. But yeah, I'm watching this impeachment and the protests (along with any K-pop idols, Hallyu stars, and all the manhwa/webtoons and K-animators that are involved in this) with a careful eye. |
