So stoked! I thought we wouldn't get this announcement until Jump Festa. I couldn't make it all the way through the manga (it got too dark for me) but I'm excited to see it in a new medium.

Ok, that announcement totally came out of the left field considering pretty quick end of original manga.
Is Shueisha suddenly picked up the catch after the Look Back success, or was it something other?

I heard the manga sold really well relative to its short run, which I think is the main reason.

Well, that is the thing - despite Takopi relatively sold enough, it also ended really short, and there were literally zero news surface about any kind of the adaptation while the author went to the main WSJ to make Ichinose Family Deadly Sins (which got canned pretty quickly too).
If Shueisha just wanted to make the anime while it was hot, they totally not wanted to wait more than 2,5 years for sudden announcement, there is something more with it.

Takopi was intentionally short. A decent amount of manga on Shonen Jump+ (the website) are planned to only be two volumes, and Takopi was one of those.
Ichinose's Deadly Sins is different though, as it was published in Weekly Shonen Jump (the magazine). That series didn't have the popularity to keep going, and the story didn't really have a clear direction about halfway through.

Viz Media licensed the manga back in early 2023; maybe they knew something we didn’t.

Well, that bringing the other point that nearly zero short mangas or one-shots, no matter how successful they were, rarely get the anime treatment at all, especially after a few years. There is something other that played in Takopi's favor, besides just the sales or major praise.

Considering it was Jump+ manga with pretty good sales, it were weird that Viz not hopped into it straight ahead even without any thoughts and knowledge.

I hope it gets expanded upon.
The ending disappointed me quite a bit, personally.
That being said, I found it a neat dark twist to the Doraemon formula, which Asano did a while back as well with DEDEDE (to better results imo).

Oh man ...
This one's gonna be fun to follow every week. The best part is it can easily be wrapped up in one season.

Nah, it's totally not be a TV anime, and I not even talk about the content - because no way they're going to fit just only 2 volumes story into anything that is more than a movie that is about hour/hour and a half long.

Very cautious optimism. Hopefully the anime properly adapts if not expands on the source material.
