See, I'm normally all about these extremely iconoclastic adaptations of known franchises because it's a good attempt at swinging for the fences and making something wildly memorable. But you still have to swing the bat.

The problem with "Bomberman: Act Zero"-ing Pac-Man is that Pac-Man fans remember Bomberman: Act Zero. Neutral

Umm, yeah, I think I'll stick with the Hanna-Barbera interpretation of Pac-Man. It was goofy as heck but I'll take "goofy" over whatever that reimagining is going for.

This looks terrible, but can't be too annoyed about it. When the other episodes of this show include an episode about a game that already died and an episode about a game that's not even out yet, Bomberman Act Zero is preferable to hollow corporate synergy.

I have a question to ask. What the heck is this?! Shocked I'm sorry, but this isn't Pac-Man to me. "Pac-Man" is supposed to be about a pizza-like thing running around a maze gobbling up pellets and ghosts. It's not supposed to be some Shakespearean drama. I'm with Tenchi here. I prefer the goofier versions of it like what Hanna-Barbera did. Something that's supposed to be fun and silly. Who thought this was a good idea? Why can't stuff like "Pac-Man" and "Mega-Man" be left for kids to enjoy? I'm sorry, but why did they do something like this? It makes little sense and looks really dumb.

This came up during the NYCC Panel for Secret Level, and apparently Bandai Namco told them to go nuts and do something unconventional. Well, you wanna get nuts? Let's get nuts.

I get that a more traditional Pac-Man might not fit with the general tone of the anthology compared to what else we've seen, but maybe that was a sign that Pac-Man just wasn't a good fit for the project in the first place.

No it isn’t.

Bad is still bad even if one of those is supposedly the lesser bad of the two.

Maybe I’ve gone senile but the traditional Megaman games are notoriously difficult to the point that I’d be surprised if they presently have an audience under the age 20.

Hence I believe one of the reasons the Battle Network & Legends games were made.

Not to mention it wasn’t the kids that whined and moaned about the cancellations of Legends 3, Online, and bad box art Megaman being a playable character in Street Fighter X Tekken the last of which was a pretty stupid complaint between the projection and irony.

Yes it is. Thank you for saying absolutely nothing to substance.

By the same token thank you for doing the same exact thing twice.

Really find any sane person that would prefer a legitimately bad reimagining of a beloved game series to the questionable business strategies that video game publishers make.

Most of them would probably choose neither or choose something they’d actually like.

I think BadNewsBlues didn't get what I was talking about. I was talking about the cartoons games like "Pac-Man" and "Mega-Man" were based on. Both the American versions and the edited "Mega-Man Battle Network" anime we got here. They were basically a lot of fun, something that's been forgotten in a lot of current cartoons being made right now. While the "Pac-Man" games were enjoyed by kids,I guess the "Mega-Man" games were a little difficult for them to play, hence the later games that were made for them.
While I think that there are some games that do deserve adult cartoon versions,I don't see why "Mega-Man" and "Pac-Man" have to be among them. I'd love to know why the creators behind "Secret Level" thought that those two games would be good for their show.

Thought you were talking about the games specifically not their media adaptations. So I did in fact miss what you meant.

Though even then I don’t know if there’s really any demand to make more kid driven media with these properties especially after Megaman Fully Charged. And the utter state that American Animation is in. Maybe it would work in Japan though remembering how long Starforce stuck around compared to NT Warrior it don’t look like that’d would work either.
