So, including to the fact that there is only 6 characters as they said earlier, there is:
- Literally zero OG characters of DOA, with the only most recent is being Honoka who was introduced in 5:LR - Half of the roster are VV OC's, so people who not play the gacha are outside the loop - Presumably no plans for DLC, so no real plans to add long-time fan favorites either And of course, that's not including the part that they're not even trying to sell the game outside of Japan and SEA. So... to who actually the heck you even really try to sell it, Koei? Cause that's probably the biggest mismanagement of IP that continues for a while. |

People who play Venus Vacation. People who like to play date sims. I question Koei a lot regarding DoA, but this sounds like the least surprising move they could make with the series. Hell, all the other volleyball games had a date-sim component to it. As far as DLC, I'm sure they are happy to offer you a couple of costume packs for $30 apiece. |

Tecmo Koei selling DLC for a game for substantially less than the 60 dollars that DoA Costume passes normally retail for? Inconceivable. |

I recall seeing somewhere that it was kinda telling when DLC for Dead or Alive 6 dried up after only a year, after the years long support that DOA5 had. Add to that the previous version of DOA Xtreme probably did very well for them, it shouldn't be that surprising that they'd pivot the brand to what's making them more money. At this point, I'd be surprised if we see a Dead or Alive 7 (or any normal Dead or Alive for that matter) before the revenue for this dries up. |

I mean as alluded to above DoA5’s costume passes costed an obscene amount of money and DoA6 repeated this problem taking that together with DoA’s general falloff notwithstanding it’s easy to see what the problem was.

KT knew they had to deliver. Never come between a person and their waifu (s). Love it when I will things into existence. |

- F2P opposed to the priced game, so that already exclude like 90% of the player base who will willingly pay for it - Have the roster with more than triple than this, including nearly all of DOA OG girls that were in DOAX3 and a lot of fan favorites, which divide the number of possible buyers even higher with their favorites not made the list and the fact that they will not be included at all - Constantly supported as a live service with adding characters and swimsuits "for free", including the ones that are very borderline to pass on the console release either - so the dress-up simulator part will be already heavily reduced no matter what And yeah, the costume pack bargain for the price will not appeal to them either without the girls themselves - especially considering DOA modding community will have a roll day way more than anything that Koei provide for free, and especially when it not save the game either (just look at DOA6 quick rug pull of support after the flop). |
