Quote: | The only player choices that make any kind of difference are what blends to set as the daily special, which determines who shows up; and at the end of each route, whether to get the good or bad ending. Note how I phrased that – it's blindingly obvious which choice is correct, whether you're thinking about what the right thing to do or say is, or you notice that the "good" choice is always on the left and the "bad" choice is always on the right. |
There's also a true ending unlocked when you gather all of other endings.
Also if you keep making blends which summon two girls at the same time you'll be able to proceed much faster, and if you reach the final day without being locked into a personal route you can get an extension which will help with acquisition of all endings.
Agreed on the coal "mini-game" though, it feels pointless since the amount you need is pretty obvious based on the descriptions and one/five never come into play.

Glad y'all are reviewing some less well-known visual novels. I don't know much about the genre outside of the massive franchises so I appreciate learning more about others

If you guys are reviewing lesser known visual novels now, may I recommend a few?
Harmonia

Lunaria: Virtualized Moonchild
Stella of the End
Atri: My Dear Moments
GINKA
Everlasting Flowers (It's not on the American Switch eShop, but it does have English on the Japanese eShop listing and a physical Switch cartridge)

Please keep in mind that ANN only publishes reviews for relatively current releases. The games you have suggested here are all years old.

Except Everlasting Flowers, which was only released last month.

And that doesn't have a North American release, by the poster's own admittance.
Generally, unless it's a big-name release that a member of the editorial staff is excited to play in their own time and on their own dime, most of the game reviews you see on ANN we get a review copy of. That's how I ended up playing Hookah Haze.

No worries! I understand a lot of people don't realize the ins and outs of what gets reviews. There are outlets that cover older stuff and whatever strikes the staff's fancy! That's just not how ANN operates.
