20 years since IGLOO, and the Gundam franchise still does CG mecha way better than CG faces.
BTW, am I the only one that is baffled that an American Gundam has Zeeks as main characters? I always thought that getting the USA more involved with Gundam projects would result in less Anavel Gato and more "have you heard of a man called Adolf HItler?" but it looks like I was wrong.

Doesn't seem particularly strange to me. The trailer makes it pretty apparent that our protagonist is not especially infatuated with the Zeon cause and is just there for the sake of getting revenge. Also not sure what you're getting at by mentioning Gato, who was painted by 0083 as an easily manipulated rube stuck in his old ways and doomed to die because of it.

The English dub voice acting seems a little weak.

"Serious Gundam story focused on the Zeon side full of Zakus" was practically the default "If i made a Gundam" fantasy in the days of Gundam.com in like 2002, when everyone loved 08th MS Team. I feel like this is the least surprising outcome.

I’ve said it before, this feels like a filler project because the LA movie is in development hell, the Hathaway trilogy is delayed up the wall if not canceled, and Crossbone Gundam is eternally off limits. So here we have this thing.

I like the idea of using the Gundam as a merciless horror figure for Zeon forces.

That's basically how Zeonic Front played it, and it worked beautifully there.
Not to mention the various games where you can play against Amuro in his first sorties after WB returns to space. In the anime (or at least the movie), he starts counting all the Rick Doms he's taking out, and it's just kind of silly, but when you're piloting a Zaku or whatever while he's counting, it's downright chilling.
