It's seems like most anime from 30 years ago are receiving the remake treatment, not that I'm complaining, there's plenty of shows that would benefit from new versions without filler and that can finally adapt a complete manga, and if it's an original anime, it's always interesting to see a new interpretation. Also, remakes aren't something new, there's been anime remakes/reboots since the 1970s
Speaking about Nube, I haven't actually seen it, but I know it has it has kind of a cult following, it's kind of strange that a series based on a Jump manga and animated by Toei isn't that well-known.
Knowing that Remow is involved, I wonder if it could get dubbed into Neutral Spanish by Anime Onegai, the original anime got a dub made back in 2002, with the late Jesús Barrero as Meisuke Nueno, but this is one of those cases where I think people would be okay with a complete re-cast for the LA Spanish dub because, aside from some minor characters, none of the original cast seems to be active, especially since the dub was made in Cuernavaca (where only a few Crunchroll licensed anime are dubbed nowadays), in a studio that I don't think it exists anymore.

A lot of modern remakes have their share of problems too, the pacing is either incredibly rushed with lots of cut content or the visuals are bland & soulless and in some cases look even worse than their original shows. So it's not always a positive.

They will most likely have only him reprising his role, and for kids, they will have new seiyu.

Maybe they bring back Yuri Shiratori to voice Yukime again.

Speaking of Yuri Shiratori, does anyone remembers her at all? - she was actually in lots of anime in 90s, and 2000s, and then she just stopped being active.

- As for this remake in particular, it was leaked some time ago, but still, it's nice to have it official.

And hopefully we get more of them.

With the changing times and advancements in digital animation, the setting has been updated, and the students of Class 5-3 have been given a modern update. Please look forward to a completely new look while retaining all the charm of Nube.

I haven't read the OG manga, but one twitter user post a panel of manga and I instantly understand what did the manga mean by that statement spoiler[ it's kind of nudity, naked woman, etc, something "normal" in that era of not only Shonen Jump but other magazine ]

So I'm pretty sure mangaka themselves understand, that kind of content can't be published and broadcasted in today's era, hence they have to 'update' it with 'modern setting', instead of just using censorship.

I'm just hoping this didn't trigger "anti-woke" people to assume, say, and discuss that "japanese people started pandering overseas/western audiences by changing their entire script? It's over for anime industry" or something else. Peace.

its really case by case basis, we still get a lot of anime that caters towards us the Japanese, and the nudity stuff its still there like Mushoko Tensei, Onimai..etc, one or two shows changing it up because of the timeslots, the studio making it and whatever other reason, its not a big deal. It's been happening since the 80s, a toned down anime version of a manga, have nothing to do with the west. Also, there is always the manga (which is pretty awesome)

Question is how far the updates will go, esp. on the visual front. Will it be like the Trigun Stampede reinvention which totally updated the character designs and the story progress? Or will it be like Banana Fish, which retains the OG story and manga designs but just modernises the setting to present times?
