Considering the pace at which they were only able to stop at the start of the war in this first season so as a reader of the LN I am not surprised.

This show was a nice surprise. Definitely one of the better isekai that didn't really need to be an isekai.

Agreed that this series was a nice surprise. Happy to hear that more is coming.

Would this really count as a season 2? a one season break in between seems more like it was a split cour rather than a legit new season.

All the promotional details I've seen use "season 2". I'm more interested to see if they'll start from 1 again, or use continuous numbering.

Nice. I'm glad we'll be able to see this series continue and get in to the war. Hopefully it passes the manga so I can see something new =D

Whenever I see a quick announcement of another run along with a date, it makes me believe the series must have been planned as a split cour from the outset.
That said, I wonder how often where this is the case the production committee has another series off in the wings that could use the studio production slot and air time if things didn't go well (and not always the same backup series for both).

The bigger news story here is that this essentially confirms Kinnikuman will be a 1-cour, not 2 like most people were expecting.

Definitely one of the sleeper hits of the season. The animation remained consistently good through out, characters were well developed, and the story was interesting. It really didn't need to ride the itsukai trend since it never comes up again in the story (unless it comes up later for some reason) and he didn't seem to gain any kind of advantage or disadvantage from it. More than anything it knows how to keep things fun and interesting, that last episode was ridiculously good without needing to rely on an underwhelming battle or cheap cliffhangers.

Glad to hear it! This was one of the biggest surprises of the season for me so I'm glad we're not just ending things right when the story was really getting started and we'll actually get to see Ars and his retainers play out in a full-on war.
Hope Licia still gets screentime.

Really glad that the spring season's episodes weren't a complete package!
While I liked the show it honestly felt like a set-up for an actual plot so it's nice that we're getting more.

Very happy to hear this news, I really enjoyed this anime.
It was a good mix of seriousness and fun.

Given that the first season was very much the introduction and build up arc this is great news.
