Apologies if this is the wrong thread, but I was curious if anyone knows why the American anime magazine Otaku USA went from being published Bi-monthly to quarterly last fall. I know that magazines in the USA have been on the decline for a while, but I've been reading Otaku USA consistently since 2009 and haven't seen an explanation in the magazine as to why this change occurred. Their sister Magazine “Anime USA” was always published quarterly , and as far as I know that is still being published as well

That's a bummer to hear. Hopefully it is not the circling down the drain that has captured so many other items of print media.
Otaku USA was my primary source of Anime and Manga news when I was in prison as one of the few things you could buy were magazine subscriptions. It would be difficult to bang the drum and try to get Anime fans to unite and buy subscriptions in this era. I'll pick up a copy at Borders if I see one but I can't justify getting a subscription to four magazines a year now. I had just renewed my subscription to Shonen Jump back when they went all digital, kinda just lost my money on that one. |
