Honest question: Is this a good thing, especially for the staff, in the long term?

This feels like a cost consolidation move. Demand is up for anime, why not cut out the proverbial middleman?

I wonder if Naoko Yamada will stay or move to other shores.

(it was confirmed that Science Saru made a ton of profit last year) so this buyout isn't happening because of any financial issues on their part
yeah i also wonder that, Saru is not an independent studio anymore |

Yuasa didn't leave, he just wanted to focus on creation/direction over the corporate side of the business |

He did leave. After retiring as CEO, he specifically remarked that Wikipedia, that still listed him as being employed at Science Saru, was wrong and that he now is a freelance director. And the last things he worked on are the openings for Gunma-chan S2 and Spy x Family S2, both unrelated to Science Saru. |
