I had a feeling the Edens Zero studio and staff would take care of this one. If anyone wants an idea of how this anime will turn out animation-wise, Edens Zero is as close as you're going to get.

Once again Aoki will be doing some insane heavy lifting, between this, OPM, and Danmachi.

Quote:
Tetsuya Kakihara, Aya Hirano, Rie Kugimiya, Yūichi Nakamura, Sayaka Ōhara, Satomi Satou, and Yui Horie all reprise their roles as Natsu Dragneel, Lucy Heartfilia, Happy, Gray Fullbuster, Erza Scarlet, Satomi Satou, and Charle, respectively.

Little error here, you guys put Satomi Satou's name twice instead of Wendy.

Who knew Satomi Satou played herself in the series, huh?

I feel like it’s been forever, but as long as the animation is better than the last season.

With the Fairy Tail anime making its comeback this July, I wonder if the staff behind both the Fairy Tail and the Edens Zero anime series learned their lessons after everything they had pulled off for a very long time. The underwhelming animation, censorship, continuity errors, omitted parts, missed-out opportunities, and the fact they made no animation improvements/uncensored changes to their home media (DVD/Blu-ray) releases, goes to show that not every anime adaptation can come close to perfection. But who knows, if JC Staff (including Hiro Mashima himself) is deeply involved in the production committee, then anything from its animation can be immensely improved. It would make a much more faithful adaptation of the manga. So with that being said, I would love to see if the staff can create the quality it truly deserves for the anime with all their time, effort, and care. I'm hoping for the best with the Fairy Tail 100 Years Quest anime!

P.S. I'd also love to see all nine OVA episodes to be re-released as a Blu-Ray Box Set anytime soon. Even if Crunchyroll could obtain the rights, including an English dub, to both the 100YQ anime and all the OVA episodes.

Hoping it's a step up from the final season animation-wise.

I’m looking forward to seeing this! Hopefully the animation will be better and censorship removed as much as possible.

I fell out of love with this series pretty hard, but I couldn't help noticing that the prior anime removed all blood from the series where there was plenty in the manga. I can't imagine why.

The assumption is that the production committee wanted to sell it overseas to kids markets when the Kids TV market was still viable at the time. Japan's generally relaxed when it comes to blood in Kids productions, but if they're trying to market it overseas, that often becomes a barrier (see the difference between Dragon Ball Super, Gegege no Kitaro 2018, and My Hero Academia productions in terms of what has international safety nets and what doesn't, two of which share the same time slot). So often shows will be edited at the production level or at least put blood in spots that are easily able to alter for overseas markets.

However, given the situation with how Kids market (local and international content alike) has been dryer up a lot quicker in most overseas markets (heck, even in Japan, general audience and kids targeted stuff is airing late night more often now, due to lack of time networks/advertisors wanting to sponsor the slots), especially with the rise of streaming, this "might" not be a problem anymore, but we'll see.

It makes sense if you’re targeting kids 10 and under, but after that it’s a moot point. Maybe that’s who they were targeting back in 2009?

Anime studios doesn't decide on that it's TV Tokyo which was the reason for the censorship but maybe if they moved it to a later time like One Punch Man since the sequal of the manga isn't not targeted to younger audicence, the censorship might be gone.
