The first release includes the Persona 5 Royal EX BGM Set and the Persona 4 Golden EX BGM Set, which includes additional tracks from both games for players to enjoy in dungeons. Atlus will release the sets on March 12.

This seems like an interesting choice, but my main question is, why?

Quote:
The Velvet Costume & BGM Set will include Velvet Room costumes and music tracks. The set will come out in May.

Alternate outfits? That's cool.

Quote:
Episode Aigis -The Answer- includes content originally released in Persona 3 FES as a post-game epilogue, where players take control of Aigis. Atlus will release the post-game DLC in September.

This was what I was waiting for.
Does this give us hope for the PSP content eventually?

I'm kind of mixed on this. On the one hand, I think DLC is preferable to some sort of rerelease with added content years later. Atlus has said that P5R wouldn't have worked as DLC because of the additions throughout the game, and the gameplay changes. Since this is only after the main game, that isn't a problem, and something cheaper and sooner seems ok. On the other hand, it's obviously something that was planned ahead of time, and considering, like P3R, it is based on existing content, I don't think it's a stretch to say it could have been included. The outfits and soundtracks are standard for Atlus at this point. I usually skip that stuff in their other games just because it's a pretty unimpressive way to squeeze a few bucks more. I probably wouldn't care that much if not for how many times they keep coming back to that same well.

I guess the leaks were true so I'm glad I waited on this game. I'll wait until the complete version comes out and on sale.

It isn’t there literally was no reason to release Reload in the exact same fashion as the original PS2 version was let alone not just throw the Portable content in the game.

Like people whined about the FFVII remakes not being a one to one remake eventhough with FFVII being as ubiquitous as is it would’ve been redundant. Here Atlus had the potential to develop a remake of Persona 3 that encompasses all versions of Persona 3 and decided for no reason except wanting to make an extra bit of cash even with the usual costume and music DLC they release for all Persona or SMT games to release Episode Aegis as Expansion DLC.

To quote Bret Hart Bullshit doesn’t even describe it.

And I say this as someone who usually doesn’t mind DLC.

Eh...I feel like I should be more upset about this than I actually. But while P3 is an all time favorite of mine- and I'm really loving Reload- I absolutely hated the Answer, both gameplay and narrative. So it may be additional content, but unlike SMTV's rerelease, there's not really an addition here that I want. So its an easy skip for me.

They wanted to include it in Reload but didn’t have enough time so it’s nice that we’re getting it. I haven’t finished it but I love the remake so far and especially seeing all the new fans who are playing it for the first time and hearing what they think of my favorite game of all time.

Just going to wait a few years until Atlas rereleases Reload and gives it the Royale treatment (maybe with the ability to pick a female protagonist?).

When Xenoblade 2 came out I played it a bunch and beat it. Months passed and then the story DLC came out but I never went back and played it since I had already exhausted everything in that game.and burnt out on it and a couple story DLCs were not enough to make me replay it again. I since learned my mistake and decided to wait to play Xenoblade 3 until all the DLC was out. And that seems to be the most sensible way to play most games these days.

Although in this case I already played FES back in the day so unless they changed the story there's probably not much reason for me to play the remake even after this comes out, let alone having to pay extra for it

Most people could've probably seen this coming even without the leaks.

I wonder if they'll bring back Stephanie Sheh as Metis.

Yup, I'll just wait until they package everything P3 into a Complete or whatever they'll end up calling it, I've played through it twice back in the day so I've no burning need to play it again immediately. Then I'll throw it to the Discount Tracker (although Steam insists on calling it a "wish list") and wait until some sale has it at least for 50% off.

Gonna need a citation on this one either way. You push the game back, it’s not like Persona 6 is coming out within the next 2-3 years anyway,

Considering how these discounts almost never happen when you have money for them calling them a wish list is apropos. Not to mention no store front officially uses the term
Discount Tracker to begin with.

There is a very high chance that a rerelease will happen.

I recall they also said The Answer wasn't planned, but I bet they will have the female protag in a Reload-Golden-Royale years from now.

While it's additional technical work, it's not that hard. Basically a model swap for real time cutscenes, and even the anime cutscenes could have been properly pre-planned by compositing the MC on a separate layer. Then swap in the fem MC, reanimated to more of less the same timing keyframes, though of course there will be differences regarding female hair and body movement at times. The point is, it could be done.
