4?

Why nobody told me his franchise existed?

If I can customize the model's colours I can use it to plan my next gunpla.

Gundam Breaker 1 to 2 were Japan only, Gundam Breaker 3 had an Asian English version, and then New Gundam Breaker came out everywhere including North America. Bandai Namco spent the decade getting better at localizing everything.

As the title Gundam Breaker 4 may indicate though, New Gundam Breaker was a big flop and this seems like it's an attempt to pretend that never happened.

That's actually one of the reasons why I grabbed New Gundam Breaker on sale - most Gundam fans call it unplayable, but it is still nice to have a functioning Gundam game on PC that can run in 1440p and looks great during assembly.

That said, this series literally has not been in top form for a decade, it will be interesting to see if Bandai Namco continues their garbage-fire spiral or can in fact pull their heads out of their arses for a second and deliver with how promising the trailer actually does indeed look. I have to give kudos where they are deserved - I had all but figured the vocal track was going to be scrubbed from the English video, but it looks like they may actually try and preserve parity with the JP side too. I really really hope they don't self-sabotage this into obscurity again.

If we can get Dynasty Gundam 3 with all DLC included on PC too, then the dream will be complete after this. I'm just really terrified they're gonna self-sabotage and muck Breaker 4 up like the last several Gundam projects.

Well, I'm not naive enough to expect the combat to be any good, but here's hoping it's not as abysmally bad as the New Gundam Breaker's. Same for the UI.

Dioramas look pretty cool, at least.

Combat is better than you think. It's def more inline with dynasty warriors than dark souls l, but it's varied enough by weapon types and supers. Keeping the chain going can be quite addictive especially at higher level play.

Yeah, I remember folks comparing GB3 to Dynasty Warriors back in the day. Now, if GB4 really did play similarly to the Gundam Musou games... that's be a huge improvement. I'm not gonna hold my breath. The main draw with these games is always gonna be the customization -- combat is always gonna be an afterthought (and the story stuff even less than that).

GB3 rules, GB4 is the same developers. New Gundam Breaker was Bandai's own internal team, so that one doesn't count. I'd say it's gonna rule.

I suppose this is a good opportunity to actually play my copy of New Gundam Breaker to see if it's as bad as it's reputed to be. Everything I heard about the gameplay changes sounded horrible.

I hope the storyline is closer to GB2's epic Gundam story (spoiler[albeit as a game your character is playing or somesuch]) than GB3's standard 90s sports movie plot. And that we keep standardized stats for parts instead of GB1's system where some kits were just flat out better than others so your model just wound up being whatever half-way useful parts you manage to scrounge up.

New Gundam Breaker isn't bad, it's unplayable.

A game considered unplayable would also constitute as being bad.

NGB was pretty ass besides the customization and the battle school aesthetics. So I'm hoping this would be closer to GB3 or just straight up being improvement.

I was expecting more prominent Witch from Mercury content.

BACK-ON in Gundam once again after Metaverse. Song is great as expected. Anna Suzuki is a surprise. I wish it was Lil'Fang though.
