They’re acknowledging stuff from the Shadow the Hedgehog? Between this and Sonic Frontiers, it feels like Sonic is finally back to what it was like in the late 90s/2000s.

Yeah, this trailer proved why Sonic and pals had to be made taller and be given longer limbs for the 3D games. They facilitate action scenes.

Why is that shocking? Frontiers itself had “some” references to the game such as a stage I believe and music for Episode Shadow.

On one hand, it's great that this is getting a re-release. On the other, I hope it has more to it than just a Shadow campaign. It was nice that the trailer used my favourite song from the game.

When I was replaying the game recently, I was thinking of some changes they could make for a re-release. Having the trophies being unlocks from the store and not with codes, fixing that last boss fight, some level design improvements and gameplay teaks, having the pinball game come included with the game, some other bonus content and maybe even some new stages.

Sonic X Shadow Generations just became one of my top 5 most anticipated video game releases of the year.

Hoping it gets a complete physical release on Switch and PS4.

Making Knuckles and Tails also playable in this post Sonic Mania/Sonic Superstars world would be another.

Black Doom showing up out of nowhere kind of shook me up. I wonder if they'll get Sean Schemmel back?

I'm curious how long the Shadow campaign is. I think there was a rumor it would be decent-length and written by Ian Flynn (which would be amazing). I'd have to think they'd want a level where he faces off against Mephiles since that's one of the most iconic Shadow things and one of the better received parts of '06.

t's exciting to see nods to Shadow the Hedgehog! With this and Sonic Frontiers, it feels like Sonic is returning to its late 90s/2000s glory days. Can't wait to see what other nostalgic elements they bring back!
