Nobuhiro Oga is the correct name of the Representative Director and President of Shogakukan, not Nobuhiro Aiga.
Please refer (in Japanese): https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/相賀信宏 It mentions that his father said in an interview that his family name is read as オオガ(O-o-ga). So technically, it should be Ōga with a line (long vowel mark) over "O". For convenience, however, it can be "Oga" without the line on top, just like how Osaka is spelled. (Ōsaka would be more accurate but we use simplified "Osaka". Tōkyo is the same for that matter. We just use "Tokyo".). |
