So my guesses would be that either the game was really successful so they're gonna make a short to promote it (possibly multiple shorts)... OR it was very much not successful, and they already had some animation in the game that they're hoping to repurpose for a quick buck.

Or, I mean, it's possible that the story for this mobile game was just that good that it demands an adaptation... but we all know that ain't it.

Game is already being shut down and it released last nov. So it was a big pile of crap.

Of course it does.

IMO it was something they should have done since the beginning to flesh out the PD timeline more instead of gatekeeping it via a mobile app.

It could sell decently, but it should've been an OVA, ONA, or short TV anime from the start. The game itself is a snoozer and wasn't necessary.

Hope they let it stream officially online.

It basically went through dev hell. Announced in 2019 (thats when the leaked MS profiles are dated too), went radio silent for two years, got first information in 2021, released in 2022, etc.

I imagine the pandemic did not do the developers any favors.

The IBO world is way too rich for writers to NOT pass up on expanding.

Now can they also make an IBO: Gekko anime so I can have a goddamn chance at the Astaroth Origin getting a reprint before I die?

One of the reasons I was disappointed with the Witch from Mercury was because I felt they had a legit world they could mine for a long time with IBO. I’d really like to see more projects set in that world to flesh out its lore.
