Seems like Skeleton Knight in another world but edgier. I'll still give it a spin

I rather enjoyed the novels at first, but it turned more towards being a generic power fantasy as it went on, which kind of undercut the guys character.

So this will probably another one of those adaptations where the anime covers all the good bits and it's down hill from there.

Shouldn't take the preview and poster image too seriously imo.

spoiler[I wonder if they'll streamline stuff for the anime, the LN definitely felt like it'd wander around. I do appreciate though that the strongest relationship seems to be between Rentt and Lorraine, people of similar age and experience, instead of between Rentt whose older/experienced and Rina whose younger/inexperienced.]

Is "Lorrane Vivie" correct? J-Novel uses "Lorraine Vivie" for their translation.

Yes there is a typo, the official anime site has her name correctly written https://nozomanufushi-anime.jp/character/lorraine.html

I get why it would be compared to Skeleton Knight but as a reader of both they certainly don't have much in common beside Rentt initial monster body.

Yeah, Skeleton Knight and The Unwanted Dead Adventurer are not the same type of show.

Skeleton Knight is not really an undead skeleton, and the show has a much more adventurous flavor and upbeat vibe.

The Unwanted Dead Adventure has a much darker theme and is a bit more dungeoning.

Skeleton Knight has a grander scale, while Rett works in a smaller setting.

This is is one of those interesting light novels that can really use some trimming once it gets adapted into anime.
