A graphic novel adaptation of a manga? That seems redundant. Especially when they already did a (successful) kickstarter to localize the original. Not surprising this didn't get any traction.

It happened a bit in the 80s and 90s like the old Dirty Pair comic, but it is odd to see American adaptions like this in this day and age (that aren't live-action, at any rate)

From the looks of it it appears to be a remake of the manga. Which isn't unique to Tezuka stories really, Pluto was an AU remake of an arc from Astro Boy.

Shame about this. It seemed pretty interesting.
