Alquié's Harlock comic was just outstanding, so that already gives high expectations for the Seiya comic. Not just that, but Alquié himself was the man behind the early 00s fan animation made for the Hades Chapter that (according to legend) eventually made its way to Toei, which in turn led to the Hades Sanctuary OVA being greenlit, which itself helped start Saint Seiya's entire revival in Japan, which makes Time Odyssey feel all the more special.

I'm sure, in proper English tradition over the past 20 years, that Time Odyssey will absolutely bomb for Ablaze, but I'll definitely be getting this once it's released in collected format, just as I did with the Harlock comic.

Don't @me, but, if I am not mistaken this is about Ikki, or, more precisely, explaining what's the deal with the Phoenix Cloth.

I remember reading something about it, but can't remember.

Does Kurumada approve? I mean the premise feels like a direct sequel to Next Dimensión which is close to its end

Yes, this is a prequel to ND actually, SS doesn't have the most well developed timeline.

Then I guess Kurumada is retiring or something because Chronos became a character in his works in Next Dimension when the whole timetravelling thing started. Seiya being an active character means that Athena saves him so this literally means that Next Dimension really is meant to end as soon as possible. Still, I'm kinda disappointed that the Pegasus Tenma from Next Dimension didn't do much on his own

I mean, it could also likely just be taken as a non-canon standalone story, too. I don't think the Gigantomachia novels from 2002 are exactly hard-coded into the overall Seiya timeline, for example, and the same is kind of true for Episode.G & Saintia Sho, as well as the four movies from the 80s (Lost Canvas, at least, is 100% confirmed as an alternate timeline due to ND). Saint Seiya has a lot of stuff that may or may not be considered canon, depending on personal interpretation.

Honestly my only concern is I hope there’ll be a proper trade paper back or collected release so I don’t need to try and find how to buy the floppies, like I’ll do it if I have to, I just hate that I gotta try and scramble to get whatever Saint Seiya I possibly can. Being an American Saint Seiya fan these days is a struggle lol
