I remember selling my Zegapain singles w/artbox back in the day in the hopes to get a slimmer ADV/Sentai set, and that never materialized. I now have a tiny shred of hope that should this new series show any sort of success, we may get a chance to buy it again in North America.
As for the sequel itself, I'm likely going to check it out since I liked Zegapain a lot more than I thought I would. |

Now there's a name I wasn't ever expecting to hear again.

Same here. I've actually kept thinking about rewatching it over the last year or so, so I guess this is the incentive I needed to make time for it. Not sure where a new story will fit in though, since it seemed to have a pretty final ending.

…Okay, this was right around when I got into anime, maybe a little before, but I don't think I've ever heard the name "Zegapain". I guess that's reasonable, given that it aired in an absurdly stacked season. (If you're sorting the new titles there by member count, you have to scroll down to #31.)

I only really know about it because I bought the entire set of singles and artbox some 15+ years ago and never watched it. And I only did that because they were like $3 each in RightStuf's bargain bin. (Holy crap that season though, especially when you add on the continuing titles!) |

I remember watching Zegapain and thinking not too bad. Of course, I don't remember much else. Really, really odd timing for a show like this (but then I don't know, maybe it's not that odd and I just am unaware of some recent event). Someone tell me was it super popular or something?

Nice, underrated show. ANN didn't give it a positive review, although I always found that reviewer very harsh.

The timing is certainly odd but i'd take a Zegapain sequel anytime, while it shouldn't have stuck in my memory among the multitude of similar sci-fi from that time, i was especially fond of the fake world concept. The ending was particularly intriguing so i wonder how a sequel can even be made.

I hope it explains the ending a bit. Who was the father?!?!

I really loved this anime, I picked up a Zegapain DVD collection on Ebay that was very hard to find some years ago. I'm glad to see it's getting a sequel. At first glance it seemed like a generic mecha but turned out to be excellent in the end.

Zegapain was decent. Can´t say I recommend it but there were some interesting ideas there. Hm. I am vaguely interested.

I was NOT expecting a sequel to Zegapain seeing as how it told a complete story, but I'm really looking forward to it! Anyone know if the 2016 film has a better sub yet, cause the last time I checked, the one that's on the web is REALLY REALLY $hitty
