Well, at the very least, it can't turn out worse than Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer. It was actually quite depressing to see Mizukami's tweets before it got announced, saying how much he wanted an adaptation, and when it did..... well, that happened.

This already looks a lot better than Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer! Hopefully it doesn't disappoint visually. I trust White Fox but I'm keeping my expectations in check.

And a complete adaptation!? That's great! As much as I love Sengoku Youko, the first arc is pretty meh. It's only until the second arc where things get really good.

There was also some more art Mizukami drew to celebrate the announcement: https://twitter.com/nekogaeru/status/1689563010816503808?t=ZlZyadnS9JCN6mjOO4ifVA&s=19

It being announced in such a short timeframe makes me wary, but hey I managed to like Biscuit Hammer even though it looked like that, so I'll probably like this too

It was announced back in July. They just confirmed the staff, cast and showed the PV now. An anime being announced half a year ahead is perfectly normal.

I don't think so? There were some rumours, but I don't think there was an announcement.

Yeah, while the news WAS floating around in July (I remember Manga Mogura tweeting about it), that was a leak, nothing official. This here is the first time there's anything official about it.

I'm optimistic though, an announcement four months before it airs isn't *that* unusual. Trailer looks much better than Samidare already, the screenwriter is very experienced and White Fox has a pretty decent reputation too. Samidare being so fresh in everyone's mind does give some reason to worry, but I feel like this project is in safe hands with the staff they announced so far. Don't forget that for Samidare, we literally didn't have anything except the VAs until just a few weeks before it aired. No trailer, no director, no screenwriter, no studio, nothing. Cases like these are the exception, not the rule.

And Mizukami tweeted out a picture of some sake and/or alcohol bottles and mentioned he would be drinking to celebrate the announcement of the anime. I don't think he did that for Samidare, so that's another good sign.

Hope they blaze through some of the early chapters. The first few volumes kinda suck.

Three cours? For an adaptation of a manga that concluded seven years ago? That's something you hardly ever see! But I hope we see more of it, there's a lot of great manga that have gone unadapted.

I love Mizukami's other work but have not read this series. But given that they are adapting two specific arcs, I'm assuming this won't be a complete adaption? Either way I'm excited for this one. And thank goodness, it looks like they're giving it to a studio that actually knows what animation is.

Mizukami confirmed it's a complete adaptation. Rather than arcs, they're more like parts. Kinda like how Chainsaw Man has a part 1 and 2, with each part having its own arcs.

This already looks like a step up from the last Mizukami adaption.

I'll definitely be checking it out!

People are talking if this will be a good adaptation or not but I'm just thinking about how this basically confirms that Re:Zero season 3 will change studios.

Or it could be that Re:Zero is not set for 2024, and they're still in the process of getting the band back together.

Maybe it will be J.C. Staff and then we'll have a Date A Live III scenario, lol
