I wonder if TotK will reach the same sales as BotW? From what I’ve heard, the hype isn’t there as BotW had, except from when the game premiered. That said, 18 million in just one quarter compared to 30 million in BotW’s total lifespan, pandemic included, is an AWESOME start by comparison.

Just my opinion of course, but I have been playing games since the regular Nintendo days and the switch by far is one of the best systems I have ever played on. It also has some of the best JRPG's out there. I'm interested to see what's in store next year with the possible arrival of the Switch 2.

And it's not even a quarter, it's less than 2 months sales for TotK considering the end date is June 30 for Q1 financial report - so current safe net of TotK estimated sales is probably around ~20 millions. |

Those Tears of the Kingdom's numbers are insane for a game that just came out 2 months ago. I wonder if they could reach BotW numbers at the end of this year
The Switch itself just cross the 30 million units sold in Japan today, it has a good shot at becoming the best-selling game console there. Don't know if it could beat the Nintendo DS and the PlayStation 2 and sell over 155 million units In the last few days there's been more rumors about Nintendo preparing to reveal a successor to the Switch, I know rumors about a new console have been circulating since 2018 but this time it seems there's more credibility. I wonder if Nintendo would keep supporting the Switch for a few more years even after the launch of its successor |

I'm getting both Super Mario Bros. Wonder and Super Mario RPG, but I hope the RPG one does better because I want Nintendo to realize that people want more Mario RPG games, such as the old Paper Mario games.

I was waiting for this. Once again ANN reports on Switch sales, but hasn't reported on the PS5's 38.4 million shipments back in April and 40 million units sold news last week. ANN stopped reporting on PS5 sales this past January when it was at 30 million. I originally noticed this when ANN would take their time posting PS5 sales articles, which would be a couple days, but post Switch sales articles with the quickness. Now you've missed the last 2 PS5 sales articles (38 million and 40 million) while posting the last 2 Switch sales articles (125 million and 129 million).
I don't care for PlayStation as they have screwed Japanese devs with their hypocrite censorship rules since 2018. This is about lack of news being reported on 1 platform (PS5) compared to the other (Switch). Report on these per the requirements of your job. I have no idea what you're getting at here but it's much simpler than whatever you are insinuating: we simply didn't see either of those news leads last week and in April about PS5 shipments, and news was much quieter yesterday. How long it takes us to get to an article lead we find depends on how much of a priority we think it is and how many other leads we have competing for our time. It just so happens that yesterday the news was decently quiet so I was able to get to the Nintendo Switch news right away. It also happens that we missed the news last week about the latest PS5 shipments. We obviously try our best to find all possible leads relevant for us to write about, but sometimes we accidentally miss some. If we took "a few days" in the past to get to other PS5 shipments articles, that's because news was busier and we saw that lead as lower priority. In any case, thank you for alerting us to this news about PS5 shipments from last week. We have put it on our to do list and hope to get to it soon. |
