A middle-aged female protagonist who's an office worker by day and belly dancer by night. That sounds like an interesting premise. I'd prefer this to be an anime, but you'll hardly see anime with middle-aged woman protagonists being made. I hope the manga gets licensed in English at least.

That is literally the description of a friend of mine! While she was an English teacher instead of an office worker during the day, she was also performed and instructed belly dancing. She was also living in Japan at the time and just recently moved back to the US.

The character is in her 40s and the actress playing her is… 37. I mean, it could be worse I suppose, but I’m still disappointed.

Sounds interesting, hopefully it comes to Netflix (or a similar service) outside Japan

Disappointed about what?
People can actually pass for someone outside of their age bracket (sometimes).
This isn’t like having a a mid 20 something playing a high schooler.

No, it's actually worse. A 20-something playing a high schooler will be done for a variety of reasons. Most of the time, it's easier to deal with than child labor laws, which dictate acceptable shooting times and how many hours a day that actor can work. Sometimes, it's because they need the character to do nude or other intimate scenes that would qualify as CP if they hired a minor. And sometimes, it's because they want that actor for promotion, or to do promotion that may be inappropriate for someone under the age of 18 (racy magazine shoots and the such are a big example here).
The synopsis of this story, however, points out the obvious problems with casting a younger actor in the title role. Because it's about a 20-something who is desperate to get into a relationship because she fears her time is running out. And she finds out that her single 40-something coworker's double life as a sexy bellydancer, still living her fulfilling life despite being well past the Christmas Cake stage. By casting a younger actor in her 30's to play a sexy 40-something, you're literally reinforcing the themes the story is railing against: that women don't have an expiration date.
As the OP said, it could be worse, since the actor is at least close to her 40's, but it's still a bit disappointing that they went younger in the casting of a character whose age is so important to the themes of the story.

The woman on the left kinda looks like Mita from the manga Shiroyama to Mita-san.

In some mindsets a woman that’s in her 30’s single and unmarried is considered past her prime just the same as a 40 year old hence why in some cultures females are expected to marry well before their 30’s.
Disclaimer: I don’t agree with this obvious bullshit.
Not to mention if you didn’t know how old the actress was would there be an issue about them not using someone actually the same age as the main character.

How much older is the main character of the story compared to the actress playing her?
