I remember when Geoff Thew of Mother's Basement was making a series riffing Happy Science's anime filmography, but it was abruptly halted when Happy Science did not take kindly to Geoff mocking them and their dear El Cantare. I also remember that one of Kyoto Animation's earliest material was made in tandem with Happy Science.

I met this man a decade ago at a big mall in my local area and without knowing who he was, he gave me a free copy of one of his books, signed, after we watched one of his films in the theater. I gave that copy to my Japanese religions professor a year later. Frankly, I'm not sad about his death. The man was kind to me and my friend, but he has too much baggage as a person to spent any of my time thinking too hard about him. When I moved out to Toyota-shi, I would get pamphlets in the mail at least once a month asking for donations. Kinda frustrated me, especially knowing what he represented.

There a number of typos, I believe everyone means to say "he voluntarily transcended and returned to his divine form" Maybe we will get an anime on him now?

It's just me or this guy was obsessed with the word "law(s)"? Since many of the HS films had that word in their titles.

They tried taking his video down, but he was able to appeal it.
Part 3 is coming soon m, and I am legitimately excited for it.
Speaking of hilarious media about Happy Science; this is TWICE now a political figure died when an Adult Kamen Rider story was set to mock them.

Prime Minister in Kamen Rider Black Sun was a lawyer friendly stand in for Shinzo Abe.

I am waiting for Happy Science to collide with Scientology. Maybe we'll finally get the world war iii everyone is awaiting.

And now we have to ask the "important" question - Can happy science pull a Scientology and carry on without it founder? Or will it fall apart / splinter etc?
