Male producer again? What the hell is wrong with this franchise? Do they have something against having a female producer who isn't Ritsuko? Even SideM got a male producer when it should have been a female one to balance things out. Apparently, they want to maximize profit because they don't believe that a female lead who supports a group of girls, not to mention the potential yuri teasing, will do that. Oh look, they also brought back the original producer who's now the chief producer. TWO dull boring generic male self-inserts. How original, no pun intended.
This damn "cute girls + male self-insert" crap is one of the oversaturated concepts that bring down the whole anime industry. I was really hoping they would finally break the male producer trend with Million Live and have a female self-insert guiding the cute girls. This new entry is just sad, bland, and pathetic. With the likes of Love Live, Yama no Susume, and Bocchi The Rock not needing a male self-insert or instead having the much more fitting female self-insert in today's time, and STILL becoming some of the biggest names in Japan, Idolmaster is just a boring series that still relies on their overused boring male self-insert idea that should have died years ago.

Spiiiicy.......
Anyway Idolmaster has had a male producer since the beginning and the franchise is a traditional take in the genre, changing this would be just as bad as what Blue Reflection did adding a male protagonist to a yuri and what's supposed to be an entirely female centric franchise.

What kind of broken logic is this? So you're happy with Idolmaster having a male self-insert but you hate that Blue Reflection has one? They are one of the sins about anime and they make girls look like they can't do things on their own. Do you (not) like them or what? And if we go with your broken logic, Precure having male Cures in what's supposed to be a magical girls franchise is bad as well, which is actually is.

Can't speak for the anime but as a woman who is into the iM@S games, I do wish the non-SideM games would have the option to be a female producer like Uma Musume does, or at least make their gender ambiguous like SideM. Closest we got was Dearly Stars where you played as the idol instead of the producer.

What they're probably saying is changing up what has proven to work might not be the best. Ritsuko becoming a producer and even adding males didn't work at first.

Well you have those so you can watch them and not bother with im@s then. The fanbase is fine with it so there's no need for it to change to be like those series. Everyone I know is fine with the new P-san.
