Might want to remove that part about Nagant being a you know what. It's a pretty big spoiler.

Really spot-on casting choice and pretty unexpected nowadays even if it wouldn't have been at all maybe a year or so ago.
Between this, the Chainsaw Man dub, some of the recent casting stories for One Piece, etc... it sure seems to me like certain longtime directors/properties have a bit more sway when it comes to casting non-TX actors in their shows than others if they push for it.

It probably helps that MHA and One Piece have large casts which makes it easier to justify going outside their normal talent pool since you would end up reusing VAs.

Perfect casting choice for Nagant! I wasn't expecting to see Erica in another Funimation dub either.

To clarify, the specific One Piece case I was thinking of was actually the opposite issue surprisingly (the team having to push back against CR's mandate for a new role), but don't want to give specifics to avoid throwing anyone under the bus here on a forum - even if said actor didn't exactly say anything new that hasn't been implied by others already.
Was more just implying veteran directors like Mike McFarland or Colleen Clinkenbeard (who's also mainly a producer first and foremost) might have an easier time casting exactly who they want, especially if it's a popular show. And MHA definitely fits that bill.
