Panda global recently released a statement.

The panda Ceo really seemed to completely screw everything up. We were about to have two big tournaments this month and now we’ll have none.

Nintendo has systematically dismantled fan organisations using its content, removing all high credibility competitive smash tournaments. Though I believe that blaming panda for rumours is a bit much, however much you think it might be true.

I wouldn't call them rumours if multiple Tournament Organizers are saying the same thing about him.
