This looks vastly more interesting than Three Houses both story and character design wise.

Story? It looks like the blandest, most tired retread of Fire Emblem's archetypal "Collect a group of warriors to defeat the one-dimensionally evil nation and its big dragon" story they could have done.

It looks like a fun story celebrating the franchise' history and past characters to me.

This continues to look like complete butt. Everything looks like plastic or candy, the character designs are terribly bland and the story looks like it will have no surprises.
Alear finally displays something of a personality in this trailer, but they're so hilariously codependent that this might turn out to be so bad it's good.

Yes, that's also my thought, the secondaries characters might be descendant of previous characters or there could be more cameo than those who are already known.
Now, Atelier Nelke kind of gave me a traumatism with nostalgia oriented games so, wait and see.

We already have Heroes for dumb fluff "celebrating the franchise's history". We didn't need a mainline game to sacrifice any potential of being interesting for that.
Not to mention that the idea of them celebrating the history of FE is a joke, when they've done just about all they can to scrub the guy who made the thing from history.

This looks like Heroes with more budget, which means they can do a little more than they can with a Mobile Game.
And I don't think this one game will prevent more traditional, ambitious, FE games.

Conceptually, I don't really like the engage mechanic. I worry that it lets more established characters steal the spotlight from the newer cast, robbing them of development. So, I'm skeptical about this one- but I'll reserve judgment til I see how the idea is executed.

So basically a classic Fire Emblem game. That works for me.
I was initially skeptical of the hero summoning gimmick, but it looks like it'll actually be part of the story and they have character and personality and its not just some kind of random summon.
As far as the character designs go, It's such a breath of fresh air after Three Houses. The whole job change system really limited the characters oufits to be as interchangeable as possible, and most of them were stuck in bland school uniforms. This trailer is filled with unique looking characters with a very distinct style and aesthetics each. Love the dancing tribal girl. Some may say they're too anime or overdesigned but I'll take that over bland anyday.

The designs are creepy, if not cringeworthy, but I'm not surprised. After all, this comes from a VTuber designer, and the same-face syndrome here is quite prevalent. Hell, I REALLY dislike Alear's design because the colors and the design just clash a lot.
In truth, most characters look quite, erm, punchable, so to say. And I still stand by my opinion that this is just a rehash of Awakening's story with FE Tokyo Mirage Session's system of reusing old characters with new ones. Nihil novus sub solem.
Kurahana Chinatsu is no Wada Sachiko, but damn, I prefer Kurahana's designs to these hot messes.
Three Houses attracted me like a moth to a flame. This game is just like bug repellent to me - big hard pass on this one.

We all haven’t played Heroes.

Might have something to do with that lawsuit for copyright infringement for Tear Ring Saga

Then go play Heroes instead of wanting them to drag FE down into something with less complexity than Binding Blade.
And Nintendo's pettiness over something that ultimately barely scratched them is no excuse for them leaving Kaga's name out of everything from remakes of games he wrote and directed, to the 20th anniversary book "celebrating" the series.

Isn't it just fusing them together? Kind of like Mirage Sessions?

A franchise like FE, at this point, can be more than one kind of game.
