Is the Yamamoto ANN linked in the article really the same Yamamoto? Why would a comedian work as a graphic designer?... Edit; Might not be the same person, while I can't read kanji, the name of the linked Keiichi Yamamoto is spelled 山本 敬一, but the one given in the description to the YouTube live-stream is spelled 山本圭壱. So she became an idol when she was 13 and has been in show business for almost 10 years and is now marrying a guy 30 years older than her who was formerly accused of sexual assault. I'd be lying if I said that's normal.

Okay, the age gap is one thing, but the fact that he has a prior charge of sexual assault and seemed very pushy about marrying her is several dozen more red flags.

Is anything in the article factually incorrect? How long ago did this offshoot happen? Does anyone that currently writes for the site associated with its origins? There's a secondary source used in Japanese, although it's also listed under the "gossip" section. There are a lot of "gossip" type tabloids in Japan as well (Sponichi is one) and when those sources are used, they have to be evaluated individually and often cross-verified with a second source to ensure that editorializing doesn't leak in (basically the "OMG can you believe..." voice). |

Arama! Japan started out as aramatheydidnt on LiveJournal and moved to their own domain in 2014. The original creators of aramatheydidnt still write for the website. They still have Free For All Fridays posts like they did in the original community, and tend to write in a really hyperbolic manner when it comes to Maki Goto (because one of the co-creators is a huge fan of her). Their interviews and articles reporting on music releases seem to be fine, but when it comes to scandals and gossip articles (or just almost every article on Maki Goto), I would be really wary about using them as a source since they do mix in some editorializing commentary. |

Obviously, the adult woman in the relationship, didn't seem to think it was pushy. Perhaps she needed those fifty times, so she would know, he was sincere and serious. Women don't belong to a hive mind, each one is different, with their own wants and needs. Perhaps you are right and he is a cad, then again maybe she made the right choice. We will never know for sure, until the music stops playing. |
