I don't know why but I had the impression that Guilty Gear Strive was already available on the Xbox Series, I think many Japanese developers still think the Xbox is not a viable platform but Microsoft is trying to bring more Japanese games to their console. I'm also wondering if ArcSys can bring GG Strive to the Switch, don't know if the system can run it or if there's any interest, games like Mortal Kombat 11 seemed to performed well on the Switch. Though that reminds me that some SNK developers said they thought of bringing KOF XV to the Switch but said the hardware wasn't suitable and they couldn't implement rollback netcode.

I thought for sure BBCTB was dead. The game released years ago, had some updates and a few additional characters. Why now of all times?

@ Silver Kirin:
I thought the same too, but the last time ASW brought anything Guilty Gear on Xbox, outside of cameo'ing in other games (Code Shifter being a recent example), was Accent Core +R and that was way back in the X360 days. Also, UE 4 can run some games for Switch, but they'll obviously have to downgrade it a bit to get it running on there.
@ Mune:
Well, there could be a couple of reasons, though I suppose Xbox/MS appoached ASW and asked them something like this for a decent deal and could bring these over, along with them being Game Pass supported.
Also, I'm just as happy that ASW knows there's a market for Xbox and their fighters like BBTAG and Strive, and I'll take it if "digital only" is the only way to play these. Despite already having prior versions of these games on other platforms. Kinda sad that Central Fiction is not on there (yet, unless maybe in the future?), despite being the last mainline BB not on Xbox platform. (BBTAG is more of a sorta spin-off.)

Because it's fun? Just because it's a few years old doesn't make it a worthless game. People still play Street Fighter 2 and all the different Smash Bros despite them being 'dead games'.

The online and tournament support is still there, especially with the former since they added rollback netcode 5 months ago.
