The much advertised new info about Shanks is only in the tie-in publication viewers will get till supplies run out. His end of the film flashback is under 5 seconds long and makes no sense without the info here: https://onepiece.fandom.com/wiki/Volume_4000000000
Twitter and reddit have most of the booklet summarized by now. These are the equivalent of an SBS section or a data card and also feature info about non-canon stuff. Aka. the film itself. Red is another superfluous filler film with solid animation that is promised to shake up the IP and won´t do a thing in the end. Stampede 2.0 and basically another crossover event thing. More Avengers wannabe than One Piece. Child Uta as a character might be canon but only her backstory is. She and Shanks have the same backstory because of symbolism. So present-day Uta is Schrödinger´s Uta at best. Strong World made it all so easy. Prequel OVA/Chapter 0? Canon and still a bit relevant as of Wano (the Xebec info dump specifically). The film? 100% not. It was based on a delated plot direction for how Part 1 of the manga was supposed to end. Movie 4 and 7 are the good ones btw. Strong World, Z and the 3D2Y TV movie are also worth watching but only ok. The new age of One Piece movies started on solid ground when they came up with the "Films" concept (Stampede isn´t one as it barely has a plot) but Toei is 2/4 with me so far and 2/5 if I count Stampede. |
