Mari Okada really stepping out of her wheelhouse here (although it sounds like there's still a female coming of age fantasy vibe from the plot description so maybe not as much as I thought).

Miyuki Sawashiro being in the English cast reminds me how she was in both the Japanese and English dubs of Di Gi Charat. I think she's said she wanted to more English voiceover...

Interesting to see Miyuki listed here.

Quote:
Daisuke "Dice" Tsutsumi (Hayao Miyazaki's nephew-in-law, art director on Toy Story 3 and other works by Disney and Pixar) is the project's creator and showrunnner.

I hope this is a 1 time mention because Tsutsumi isn't Miyazaki's son/descendant or actual nephew for you to push this further as they have no blood connection to make a potential viewer think "Could he could be the next Hayao Miyazaki? Of course. It's in his blood. I'm going to watch this to see for myself." The moment whichever people connected the two families together get divorced, you can't mention it no more. That's how pointless it is to bring it up. Just saying.

Undoubtedly. Probably why he was the last name in the credits.

Yup! Technically she was only the English voice of Puchiko in the first 6 episodes of the Synth Point dub of the Leave it to Piyoko OVA (she was supposedly planned to reprise her role in the dub of the original series but there were some scheduling conflicts), and her performance in it was pretty good from what I've heard.

She also voiced Beelzebub in the Beelzebub french dub apparently

Huh. That thought never occurred to me. Maybe it was the "in-law" part that gave me a clue that he's not blood-related. I still thought it was an interesting tidbit of info, even though I'm not really on the lookout for the "next Miyazaki," related to him or not.

1. the beelzebub dub just used voice clips from the original audio.
2. You forget her infamous engrish scene in symphogear.

Depending on how well she's directed in the dub, she'll either sound decent or hilariously bad, there will probably be no inbetween. Most seiyuus or japanese people in general just for some reason struggle greatly when it comes to adapting languages.
