I love this, thanks!

Just so you know, the finishing move of Cure Black and Cure White is actually called Marble Screw, not Dual Aurora Wave (that's what they use to transform).

Yōko Honna the voice of Cure Black, was in one episode each of Kamen Rider Black & Black RX.

A Decade/Gokaiger style season where they use the powers of past PreCures is going to happen at some point.(though it might need to be a color/dress change like Maho Girls or armor like ZI-O)
Unlike their Tokusatsu department, Toei Animation can't pull another season about dinosaurs out of their butts like Super Sentai does every time ratings and toy sales are low.

I loved this breakdown of the live-action influences on the franchise, especially the more direct references! Physical fights have always been one of the things brought up about Precure, so it’s really cool to see where specifically they got it from. Obviously there’s been an interplay in the two genres since Sailor Moon at latest, but as someone who’s way more familiar with mahou shojo than tokusatsu, I appreciate the breakdown.

And okay, you SAY Toei can’t just break out dinosaurs whenever sales are low, and I agree that’s not really a well they can keep coming back to, but I would 1000% watch a season of Precure where all the Cures were themed around different dinosaurs. Pink has to be T. Rex, of course, some things are just traditional, but then you’ve got the bruiser as an Ankylosaurus and the refined one is a Triceratops with a crown representing a head frill. The midseason Cure’s a dromaeosaur of some type that probably still gets called a Velociraptor, with a cape representing feathery plumage. It’d be awesome.

I remember watching the original series and thinking that it was pretty cool, magical girls beating the shit out of their enemies instead of casting magical spells on them and I continued to watch until about the 4th series and then I dropped it for many years. I got back to watching it recently with Tropical Rogue Precure and currently Delicious Party Precure. It might be basically a show for girls but it has a lot of elements that make it entertaining for adults of both sexes, too.

one thing missing is the sakuga community appreciation of this series, for a similar comparation, this is better loved than Dragonball.
