We live in a world where Sonic has somehow bucked all the odds to become the best video game movie franchise. Love to see it.

I never got into the sonic game, I played a little Shadow the Hedgehog with my friend back in the day, but that's it. That said, I've really enjoyed these two films.

Don't know if Sonic can't beat Warcraft's record and become the highest grossing videogame movie of all time. Warcraft managed to do it since it made most of its profit in China where the game is hugely popular, Sonic on the other hand is popular in various contries but there're others where he isn't well known, in Japan, for example, despite being Sonic's country of origin the first movie didn't do very well, but that's because Sonic's games aren't that popular there as well. Sonic primary market, being games, cartoons and now movies has always been the U.S.

Well, it is one of the few that seems to genuinely care and know about the source material. The cast and crew have been generally supportive and understanding since all the way back when they changed the original Sonic CG design out of criticism. They do seem to care so I think their success is well deserved in that case.

I never finished the Street Fighter movie but I kinda enjoyed the first Mortal Kombat movie from the 90s. Then again the sequel was a hilarious mess while the latest one did not have the same fun despite its gore.
