Ah, God bless this dumbest and most brilliant of all harem manga. Very Happy I'm always amazed that it hasn't collapsed in on itself yet. The Danganronpa comparison is apt, because it becomes increasingly clear as the series goes on that Rentaro is basically a Super High-School Level Boyfriend.

Mind you, the pace of girlfriend acquisition has slowed down from these first couple volumes. These days it's maintained a rate of about one girlfriend every six chapters, so at the current pace it'll take till around chapter 580 to hit 100.

You know, for a while I've wished someone would write a fanfic for this manga using the soulmark premise. I'm envisioning, like, a 10x10 grid of dots, plus one more in the very center for Rentaro, and everyone's missing the dot referencing themself.

I love this manga so when I saw it had been licensed I bought it ASAP. I'd been going through it comparing the translation to the fan translation and it's really good!

The manga works so well because Rentarou isn't a potato but an aggressively kind and loving guy. Plus he has great eyebrows.

It's such an over the top series, everyone is so much fun and it breaks the fourth wall so much I don't think there's a wall there to break anymore.

I love the art so much, Nozawa has such great designs AND comical capabilities.

anyway basically please read 100gf

Both of the girls on the cover have Sakura hair.
Makes you wonder if that's true for the other 98.

As a woman, the one thing that really determines whether a harem manga would work for me is whether I would happily go for this guy as well. Rentarou is such a 100/10 WOULD DATE guy that this manga really works for me. He is just soooo nice and adorable that I actually won't mind sharing him with other women because everyone could use a man this nice in their lives.

The girls are also huge plus. They are so cute in their own ways that the harem dynamic just works.

I don't think I've ever self-inserted with harem. That phrase is more common than we realize to explain the enjoyability of a certain title when the story itself is not the catch. A situation with a large number of potential lovers clamoring for 1 MC has always been too obscenely far removed from any real-life experience I can recall or would ever think is remotely possible. Its much more funny to watch the MC fail and stumble and revel in my mostly lonely life (not anymore though).

I always find it interesting when reviewers speculate rather than do research. "Will it continue?" "Can it hit the mark?"

For anyone curious the manga is nearly at 100 chapters (95, I believe) and Rentarou has 18 gfs so far. And so far, they are all pretty unique.

And my favorite page of this manga so far, is chap 35, the last page (18).

It's almost like this is a review of the first volume of the manga, and not the entire series up to the latest chapter or something.

Some friends of a friend were reading this manga and I assumed it was some really trashy borderline porn series just from the name alone. This review has convinced me that it's actually pretty genuine, I'll have to actually check it out at some point

I ran by my local bookstore after reading this review and bought the first two volumes. Highly worth it! I enjoyed the heck out of both volumes. It somehow manages to tell a trope-filled harem story while being perfectly aware that it IS a trope-filled harem story and gets away with it in ways it has no business doing. The girls are cute (especially girlfriends #1 and 2), the MC likable, and I can't wait to read the rest.

Also, the running gag about the MC getting poked in the right eye repeatedly in the one chapter had me laughing out loud every time. Great comedic timing by the manga-ka.

Understand the weirdness of self-inserting in a harem. It is not exactly self-insert per say, just not a harem protagonist who makes me go "what the fxck does all these chicks see in him???!!!". I don't need to want to date him, I just don't need to be annoyed by him. I understand the whole 'suspension of disbelief' thing... But too many harem-protagonists tick me the wrong way by their boring potato-ness.

HOWEVER, I won't mind dating Rentarou. He is such a passionate lovable nicest goof that I want to protect him at all cost.

One nice detail about this manga: the total lack of meanspiritedness the reviewer mentions also applies to Rentaro's backstory of 100 rejections. There's not a shred of resentment in the narrative, and I get the sense the girls were as baffled as anyone by their overwhelming instinctive aversion to dating such a great catch. (No doubt his middle-school classmates would be delighted to hear he's managed to break the "curse" in high school.)

Reminds us of the Mega-Playboy from DNA² Laughing

Honestly 100gf the most fun harem romcom I read.Highly recommend to everyone that is tired of traditional harem romcoms with it's constant waifuwars where best girls always lose,MC being too bland compared to girls and drama prevailing over actual comedy.
