Oh, boy! Not denying that the sexualization of <18 fictional characters can be concerning, but the group(s) mentioned in this article might as well do the same type of backlash every time such a character is sexualized in any medium.

Talk about a knee-jerk overreaction - the current culture of outrage really needs to die, and fast.

I've never seen people complain about a man being sexualized... in fact, they even praise it.

I anticipate the bulk of the "outrage" will be directed at UN Women (and possibly Ishikawa and/or Jibu personally), rather than at Kimura and Kodansha. That's generally how these things go.

Looking at the ad, her arm is covering up most of her blouse. I can't read the text, so don't know about that. Just looks like a nothing burger to me.
It might sell a small extra number of volumes, otherwise probably no effect.

The objection appears to be towards putting the ad in a financial newspaper rather than having a go at the subject matter itself.
The only bizarre thing is why a UN group needed to say it.

I am a literal woman and I love my weekly dose of Tawawa.
Are some of the storylines risqué for real life? Sure.
But this is a piece of fiction. I don’t walk around telling others what they can and can’t fantasize about.

This is actually pretty weird, imo. I don't think this was a good idea tbh

The article is pretty clear about why the UN group is objecting. This isn’t a censorship thing. They make it very clear they don’t oppose the publication of the manga itself.

In the comments on twitter there are already people calling this act an attempt at censorship by the UN.

There is nothing wrong with looking. It's normal human behavior. The audacity of people.
