Jeez, that's terrible. I loved reading Kikuchi's manga My Father's An Alcoholic, so it sucks that she's not even allowed to publish this. I would have loved to read it. But seriously, Shueisha really shouldn't have needed to bow down to Happy Science just because the latter was butthurt. How dare someone make a manga about how bad cults actually are! The nerve! (sarcasm)

If this manga ticks off HS of all things, could "religion" here be referring to New Religious Movement/NRM instead of more mainstream ones?

The series was not bringing enough money for Shueisha to fight for it.

I was quite looking forward to reading this.

Stupid move by Sueisha, if people get offended when there is no intentional offending, they deserve to get offended.

Cancel culture, culture appropriation, yadda yadda. All bullshit.

This was a right wing religious organization/cult pressuring a company to censor a critic. Please deal with the reality of the situation instead of fantasizing that this is about whatever boogeymen live in your head.

I'm sorry to say this, but this is a spineless decision by Shueisha.

("Spiritual vaccines"?! Laughing )

This is very disappointing to hear, as a religious person I was interested in reading these accounts. This project could have provided a lot of insight for both the religious and non-religious and how to over come differences in perspective, so this is unfortunate. Of course the greatest concern is the frightening amount of censorship on display.

We had what happened with Look Back last year and now this. Pathetic!

Kodasha >>>>>>> Shueisha.

If they are not careful, they will never publish anything with real cultural value again.

More like a cult comparable to Scientology with ties with parties further right of the LDP establishment (you know like the failed parties supported by Shintaro Ishihara).

I think this goes show how much power and influence Happy Science has. Call it NRM or a cult, fact remains, HS has this level of power and influence, it is growing, and no interest to contain it. Sad

You mfs will call anything you don't like "right-wing". Get a clue, this is a cult comparing to Scientology, it doesn't take a side whatsoever.

You'd think after the Sarin attacks that cults would be getting a crackdown or more regulation at the least in the financials decades ago.

Apparently not only someone is in denial, but also didn't read:

"The group has also repeated common Japanese right-wing rhetoric,"

If it quacks like a duck....

So apparently if you have a few ideals it summarizes the whole cult entirely? Rolling Eyes
