Still don’t understand why the author chose not to have Yor be a biological daughter.
Is it too much to ask for a manga/anime with real family dynamics?

That's a perfect visual for the show! They even managed to fit in an Anna reaction face!

Um adopted families are real families.

Because that would be completely off the point of the manga, being about some complete strangers playing 'fake' family and becoming a real family in the process without even noticing.
The daughter is Anya, btw.

I'll have to get back to reading the manga shortly so I can appreciate how they adapt the material with the upcoming series. Though its being broadcast a little late its better than giving it a truly late night slot like niche adaptations tend to receive. I imagine many will catch this via some form of streaming so it won't make a large difference though.

As others have pointed out, because that's the whole point of the show. But I also want to add that the term family is not inherently tied to biological bonds. Because biological family members can be toxic and abusive. Because children are abandoned by parents when they are born. DNA denotes family on paper (birth certificate) but not one's real family, which is premised on commitment to and love of each other. One of the reasons that I love anime is because so many anime has taught me that we CAN choose our own family, and one's chosen family is every bit if not more real than one's biological family.
Anyway, one of the reasons I'm excited for this anime. Love the visual.

Besides the fact that you're confusing Anya for Yor, this is just an absolutely boneheaded take.
Have you even read this?
